XBConnect is a tunneling application as a means of playing Xbox LAN games over the internet, that is, play Xbox games over the internet whilst giving the Xbox the impression of playing a local multiplayer game. Any Xbox title that is system link compatible can be played on Xboxconnect. Games such as Halo can be played over xboxconnect even though they are not xbox live compatible.

XBConnect does not require the Xbox to have a modchip installed or any part of the Xbox to be modified (Hardware or Software).

The XBConnect staff recommend that you have a 128kbit internet connection to play games on XBConnect, this is partly because games are expecting the game to be played over a LAN, which has less lag than an internet connection.

XBConnect is a free application with a well developed community, XBConnect has clans and tournaments, but to create a clan you must purchase a "PRO" edition of XBConnect, details are on the XBConnect website.
